Big day for DelPark leading jockey David Cohen

David Cohen, the current leading jockey at Delaware Park, notched four winners from his six mounts at Delaware Park today. His first victory cam astride Ski Ensign, a 4-year-old Kentucky bred trained by Steve Klesaris, in the third race. In the sixth race, he was victorious aboard Tri Power, a 4-year-old Florida-bred trained by Michael Murray. He followed by scoring aboard Seneca Summer, an 8-year-old Texas-bred trained by Cody Autrey, in the seventh race. Cohen recorded his fourth victory of the day in the eighth race aboard No Mine for Me, a 5-year-old Virginia-bred trained by Steve Klesaris.

Through August 1st, Cohen is the leading rider at Delaware Park with a record of 75 wins, 54 seconds, and 46 thirds from 295 mounts.

The record for most wins in a single day at Delaware Park was set by Eldon Nelson when he scored six victories from his seven mounts in 1958. Since then, the record has been equaled five times by George Cusimano in 1968, Greg McCarron in 1974, Jimmy Edwards in 1984 and Michael McCarthy in 1997 & 1998.
