Six Furlong – Maiden for Fillies and Mares
#2 - Sherates Inmybook – 3-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Unbridled’s Song trained by Juan Vasquez is a half sister to On a Soapbox who won the Grade I CCA Oaks in 1999. In her only career outing, Sherates Inmybook did not beat a horse in her six furlong debut at Delaware Park. But she is eligible to improve with her breeding and being in the capable hands of Juan Vasquez.
#4 – Little Lady Smarty – 3-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Smarty Jones trained by Ronny Werner was foaled by Lake Lady who won the Tiffany Lass Stakes and finished second in both the Grade II Fair Grounds Oaks and Grade II Fantasy Stakes in 2002. Little Lady Smarty has been freshened after posting two sharp efforts at Churchill Downs earlier in the year. She is definitely a major factor in this spot.
#6 – Desired – 4-year-old Kentucky-bred daughter of Storm Cat trained by Michael Matz is a half sister to A.P. Warrior who finished second in the Grade II Norfolk Stakes as a 2-year-old and won the Grade II San Felipe and Grade II La Jolla as a 3-year-old. Desired has made six career starts and has only had one second place finish in a mile maiden at Gulfstream Park. I try to avoid 4-year-old maidens this late in the year, but you never know with her breeding and hailing from the barn Michael Matz, anything is possible.
