Robert LaPenta’s Our Edge tops a field of five in the mile and a sixteenth $100,000 R.R.M. Carpenter Jr. Memorial Stakes at Delaware Park this Saturday.

Last year, Our Edge impressively broke his maiden at Delaware Park by notching an 8 ¾-length triumph in his third career start. The Florida-bred trained by Nicholas Zito followed by posting a head victory in the mile and a sixteenth $70,000 Cornado’s Quest at Monmouth Park and then a 7-length score in the mile and a sixteenth $150,000 Grade III Barbaro Stakes at Delaware Park. He had not won since, until his most recent outing when he posted a 2-length win a mile and seventy yard allowance at Monmouth Park on June 26. The 4-year-old son of The Cliff’s Edge has a career record of four wins, a second, and a third from 12 starts with earnings of $229,870.
