Rush Now notches Dover victory

Mr. and Mrs. William K. Warren’s Rush Now won the $75,000 Dover Stakes in front running style at Delaware Park today. With Brian Joseph Hernandez, Jr. aboard, the 2-year-old son of Tiznow cut early fractions of :48.40 for a half and 1:12.09 for the three-quarters before posting a 3 3/4-length victory. The final time for the mile and a sixteenth over a fast main track was 1:44.15. The Kentucky-bred conditioned by Anthony Dutrow returned $9.00 as the third choice in the field of six.

Chipshot, the 6-to-5 favorite with Gabriel Saez, finished second 5 1/4-lengths in front of Congo, with Fernando Jara, in third.

Previously, Rush Now broke his maiden by 13 ¾-lengths going a mile and seventy yards at Delaware Park on September 1. In his career debut, he finished unplaced is a six furlong maiden at Saratoga on July 31. His lifetime record
