Comet of Love, with Ricardo Chiappie, finished second a half length in front of Seranadia, with Gabriel Saez, in third. Malibu Moon Dance, the 4-to-5 favorite, was close up early but faded to sixth. The final time for the six furlongs was 1:10.76 over a fast main track.

The Tax Free Shooping Distaff was the first victory of the year, from six starts, for Southern Truth. The Kentucky-bred conditioned by Jason Servis raised her career mark to three wins from 12 starts with earnings of $168,800.
