Win Willy wins Brandywine Stakes

Jer-Mar Stable’s Win Will notched a victory in the $125,000 Brandywine Stakes at Delaware Park today.

With Abel Castellano Jr. aboard, the 4-year-old son of Monarchos recorded his second win of the year by a length and returned $5.40 as the favorite in the field of seven. His previous victory came on January 21, when he won a one mile allowance at Oaklawn Park. The Kentucky-bred conditioned by McLean Robertson covered the mile and a sixteenth over a fast main track in 1:42.95.

No Abroad, with Nicholas Petro, finished second. It was another ¾-lengths farther back to In the Juice, with Oliver Castillo, in third.

This year, Win Willy has a record of two wins and three seconds from six starts. His career record is five wins from 13 starts with earnings of $507,952.

Notes: Post time for the first live race will be 11:45 a.m. this Saturday, November 6th which is closing day at Delaware Park and Breeders’ Cup day at Churchill Downs.
